FURS and COLLAGES - HOTEL WARSZAWA ART FAIR 2026
Furs and collages — these drew my attention most at Hotel Warszawa Art Fair 2026. On the first weekend of September, Hotel Warszawa in Warsaw is hosting an art fair that opens the autumn season for the visual arts in Poland.
At Art Around Gallery, in Room 120 on the first floor, Agata Zbylut continues her photographic series Touch Where It Hurts with Ursa Major: photographs in a fur coat similar to the one worn by her grandmother, Marysia. And in the bathroom of the same room, Agnieszka Swoboda presents Queen of the Apes — equally covered in fur.
At Krupa Gallery, in Room 219, Pola Dwurnik draws me into the world of postage stamps, which she uses to create striking compositions. This is a lesser-known aspect of the artist’s practice, and it is well worth a closer look this weekend at Hotel Warszawa.
Finally, lokal_30 Gallery in Room 206 brings back Mateusz Szczypiński’s excellent collages from the Utopia series. The one that spoke to me most was the papal blessing of a utopian Warsaw, titled Cure.
